Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the day! She will be surgically inseminated. Faith's progesterone level doubled overnight it went from 5.13 to 10+.

Yesterday after hearing the results, I had kind of set my sights on next Tuesday as the day she would be inseminated. So I was happy when I heard her levels had doubled and ovulation had occurred. Since it is being done surgically I will naturally worry a little, but I know she is in good hands. If all goes as planned, Dr Jim will do the surgery. Faith and Dr. Jim have a friendship that started in July of 2008 at the Duluth dog show. She will be happy to see him again.
Faith has another very special person in her life: Amy at Dr. Jim's clinic (IGHAC). I had been a while since Faith had been to IGHAC. On our way to the first blood draw, I was talking to Faith and wondering if Amy would be working that day. Much to Faith's delight she was. When Faith saw Amy she gave her the biggest smile I have ever seen! She continued to grin as long as Amy paid attention to her. (I'll have you know, Faith does not smile at me that way! I have to say, I’m a little jealous.)
Well, keep us in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow. It will be 28 day before we know if Faith is pregnant.

The Activity Starts

Faith is off to the Vet tomorrow for the first progesterone check. If we are lucky, we will run into Cheers’. She has a progesterone check tomorrow too. It looks like Faith and Cheers’ have the same timing. It could be a very interesting spring at Helping Paws!

Where does the time go?

As I read Rocket’s Journey, the blog about Faith’s son, I realized how fast the time has gone by.

I haven’t been able to get to the puppies training sessions in several months. So I was taken aback at how big Rocket has gotten and how handsome he is! The puppies are almost 10 months old, they have achieved most of their height, are experienced at working in several different public situations and will be a year old in a couple of months. It is hard to believe how big they have gotten. The other event that has indicated the passage of time for our family happened on Friday: Faith came into season again. This is her second season since she had her puppies and Helping Paws has decided to breed her. Can you believe it’s time to try for puppies again?!

Faith's Puppy Needs Your Help

Remember Little Bang? He is Faith’s first born male puppy. When he went to his foster home his name was changed to Oliver. Like Faith was at his age, Oliver is a service dog in training for Helping Paws. His foster family has entered him in Hallmark’s Cutest Puppy of the Season contest. If Oliver is voted into one of the top 10 puppies of the season, Hallmark will donate money to Helping Paws. By voting you will help Oliver win (and he deserves to win-just look at his picture) and raise money for Helping Paws. You can vote daily until December 15th. So vote as much as you can. Thanks.

If that doesn't work, then you can use this link and search for Oliver.

Rosie's Visit

We have company for a while.

Helping Paw's chocolate lab, Rosie, is staying with us and she is a sweetheart. This morning she brought me my shoes, gave me a kiss and entertained Cammie with her playful nature. Here are some pictures of her and the other dogs playing:

Rossie and Cammie are constant companions.

Toby the has taken on the role of Father and will calm everybody down when there is too much excitement in the air.

Faith and Rosie get along well. They play together but not as much as Rosie and Cammie. It's just that Rosie is younger and Faith believes she needs some mothering.
